Fishing Carrion Crows

On 28 March 2004 we were in a big park in Amsterdam and we witnessed something we had never seen before: Carrion crows that picked pieces of bread out of the water. The bread was thrown in the water for the ducks, who showed little attention to it. It looked like the carrion crows had picked bread out of the water before because they did it with great efficiency and routine. This serie of photos shows how the carrion crows picked the bread out of the water. Click on a picture to enlarge it.
